Think you're too small to help the Earth?

Think again.

Here are five tips that will help do your part to be a responsible earthling!

1. Turn off the water when you're brushing your teeth. Think of all the water we could save! Each time we waste water, we're wasting our resources. Pretend you're in the desert with no water around and you need to try and save every drop you can!

2. Start a compost pile! Take those left over banana peels, potato skins and corncobs and get your parents to help you start a compost pile. You can use the dirt it makes to plant a garden or some flowers!

3. Don't throw away clothes and toys you don't use anymore, give them to charity or have a yard sale! This is so they won't end up in a big ‘ol nasty garbage dump and take up more space outside. Besides, someone might like them!

4. When it's time to clean out your notebook at school, put your paper in the recycling bin instead of the regular trashcan. Do it with aluminum cans, too!

5. Plant a tree! Get your family together and plant a tree in your yard or get permission to plant one in a public park. Not only will it help make the air cleaner, you'll be able to watch to grow big and strong!
