We have been on a mission since the early 1980’s to make our menu healthier and in the last few quarters, we started our attack on sodium. As of Spring 2009, we lowered the sodium in several (10) of our menu items by an average of 28% and with the introduction of our new Kid’s Menu in April we lowered the sodium there by 21%.

We are definitely not where we want to be with sodium and we are committed to improving what we offer as well as continuously searching for lower sodium options.

At Jason’s we believe in balance, moderation and choices. With no artificial trans fats, no MSG and no HFCS in our food, we are providing our guests with options to make healthier choices for themselves and their families.

In addition, our Salad Bar offers a wide variety of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables – all naturally low in sodium.

Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend,

I know you’ve made an effort to reduce HCFS, MSG, and now sodium. But I was looking through your menu and nutrition info and I couldn’t find any information about whether you use GMO ingredients or not for those items that aren’t organic certified?

Kudos for aiming to reduce sodium in your menu items. So many restaurant foods claim to be healthy, yet a single entree can contain nearly a day worth of salt (or more!). Even if it’s a low calorie dish made with organic ingredients and no MSG, I would still hardly classify that dish with 2000mg of sodium as healthy. I look forward to seeing the changes in your restaurant! -Chris

I currently control my high blood pressure through diet and exercise. One of the most difficult areas is sodium intake. In many restaurant’s “healthy” options actually have higher sodium content in order to replace fat with flavor. Big time kudos for looking at low-so options.

One of my favorite low-so choices is your great salad bar since it allows me a greter measure of control. Please look at reducing your hummus (which I love, but currently sends me into sodium shock).

I enjoy great foods and wine. Other than herbs, one of the enhancers of the taste of food is salt or sodium. That is not good. Within the last four years, I have been diagnosed with hypertention. If your company can come up with food products(deli meats and all) that have very low sodium, I will give you all props. As we all know, most processed foods contain high amounts of salt.

I am a beginning culinarian student. I would like to enjoy foods without being concerned about how much sodium is in the foods am I eating.

I do find your salt content very high and I do have high bloodpressure and take a couple of meds for it, so we don’t go to your restaurant as often as I would like to because of the high salt amount in the sandwiches. I would like to see more “healthy” sandwiches on whole grain, with non-fat dressing. Love your sandwiches, for a great treat once on a while!

I look forward to your offering lower sodium items. Thank you for looking into this health issue.
